2. How We Use Cookies
ZoraTips uses cookies for four main purposes:
- Essential operation — to keep you logged in to your account, remember your theme preference and ensure core site features function correctly.
- Analytics — to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve its content, structure and performance. This data is collected in aggregate and does not identify individual users.
- Functional preferences — to remember choices you make on the site, such as your preferred market category or display settings.
- General advertising — where display advertising appears on the site from general ad networks, those networks may set their own cookies. See Section 7 for details.
We do not use cookies for bookmaker affiliate tracking, targeted gambling advertising or any profiling of individual users based on their betting preferences.
4. Essential Cookies
Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the site to function. Without them, core features such as logging in to your account, submitting forms and navigating between pages securely would not work.
Because essential cookies are necessary for the site to operate, they cannot be disabled. You can delete them through your browser settings, but doing so will log you out of your account and may cause other features to stop working correctly.
Essential cookies on ZoraTips include:
- zt_session — keeps you authenticated during your visit. This is a session cookie and is automatically deleted when you close your browser.
- zt_csrf — a security token included with all form submissions to prevent cross-site request forgery. This cookie is regenerated on each page load and never transmitted to third parties.
5. Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised data about how visitors interact with the site. This information helps us understand which pages are most popular, where our visitors come from, how long they spend on each page, and whether they encountered any errors during their visit.
Google Analytics cookies do not collect any information that could personally identify you. The data collected is aggregated and reported at a population level — for example, "500 visitors viewed the Over 2.5 Goals page today" rather than "user X visited this page".
We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled, meaning the final octet of your IP address is masked before any data is stored or processed by Google.
Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC, which may transfer data to servers outside the European Economic Area. You can learn more about Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6. Functional Cookies
Functional cookies allow the site to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, personalised features. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages.
On ZoraTips, functional cookies are used for:
- Theme preference — the
zt_themecookie stores whether you prefer the dark or light theme. Without this cookie, the site will default to dark mode on every visit. - Stay logged in — the
zt_remembercookie is set only when you check "Remember me" at login. It keeps you signed in for 30 days. If you do not check "Remember me", only the session cookie is set. - Market preferences — the
zt_prefscookie remembers your preferred category filter on the tips pages, so you do not have to reselect it on every visit.
You can disable functional cookies through your browser settings. The site will continue to work but certain preferences will not be remembered between visits.
7. Advertising Cookies
ZoraTips does not serve bookmaker advertising, does not participate in betting affiliate programmes and does not earn referral commission from links to any gambling operator. We do not place gambling-related advertising cookies on your device.
Where general display advertising from non-gambling advertisers appears on the site, those advertisements are served by third-party advertising networks. These networks may set their own cookies on your device to:
- Track whether you have seen a particular advertisement.
- Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
- Serve advertisements relevant to your browsing behaviour across other websites.
ZoraTips does not control the cookies set by advertising networks. These cookies are governed by each network's own privacy and cookie policy. You can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating networks through the following tools:
- Your Online Choices (EU users)
- Digital Advertising Alliance Opt-Out (US users)
- Network Advertising Initiative Opt-Out
8. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on the site are set by third-party services we use to operate the site. The main third parties that may set cookies when you visit ZoraTips are:
We review our third-party cookie providers periodically and update this policy when we add or remove any service. For questions about specific third-party cookies, please contact us using the details in Section 11.
9. Managing Your Cookies
You have several ways to control how cookies are stored and used on your device.
Browser settings
All major browsers allow you to view, delete and block cookies. You can typically find these options in your browser's Privacy or Security settings. Links to the cookie management pages for the most common browsers are below:
Opt-out tools
For analytics cookies specifically, you can use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being included in Google Analytics reports across all websites. For advertising cookies, use the opt-out links listed in Section 7.
Do Not Track
Some browsers support a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal that tells websites you do not wish to be tracked. At present, there is no agreed industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. ZoraTips does not currently alter its data collection practices in response to DNT signals, but we are committed to reviewing this position as standards develop.
Effect of disabling cookies
Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to your account and using features that require authentication. Disabling functional cookies means your theme preference and market filter settings will not be remembered between visits. Disabling analytics and advertising cookies will not affect your ability to use the site but will mean we have less information to improve it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. When we make significant changes, we will provide notice on the website and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies. Your continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
